Somone told me that Darton MID B18 sleeves don't work in a B20 block? And I notice there are no B20 sleeve listed on their website. Anyone know the reason for this?

 

i have darton MID sleeves installed into my B20. and coolant is leaking into the oil



according to darton they have had a 50/50 success rate when installing the MID's into a B20. technically they "fit" just like a B18 but because the casting of the block is different they have more issues with them. that is why they do not list a sleeve and do not recommend the MID's for the B20.

you want a proper re-sleeve for your B20......contact golden eagle.

i talked to darton them selves and they said they dont sleeve b20 blocks beacuse of the weak cast and also that the 2 and 3 cylinder are stuck together on the b20 hope that helps

The Darton MID wont work like described below, but the regular Darton Iron Ductile blank sleeves will work with the B20.

 

if you can get a hold of the old school darton pro-kit, it'll work since you don't remove the entire cylinder for the sleeves. They're flanged, and "look" exactly like the golden eagle. I'll see if i can scan the blueprints for it so that you can get a better understanding. the downside is that most of them can't go above 84mm (at least darton highly doesn't recommend it).

ok to prevent anymore misinformation, here's the different Darton sleeves that are available.

Below is a Darton Iron Ductile sleeve.


This one is also an Iron Ductile Darton sleeve, but the MID design.


there is no MID available for the B20. but it is available for all other B-series, B16, B18, B17.
But you can still used Darton Sleeves to do the B20. but it will be the open deck design, just not the MID.

No. YOU don't understand. Maybe it's a language barrier or you just missed it but it says RIGHT ABOVE THE FIRST IMAGE "Below is a Darton Iron Ductile sleeve."

Above the second image it says "This one is also (as in addition to the first) an Iron Ductile Darton sleeve, but the MID design."

BOTH OF THEM ARE DARTON SLEEVES!!!

 

But it didn't say BENSON.. Just contact Exospeed. The people that posted that picture up and gave the information the first time.
