so i've been hit and run by some car during the night. Was parked at a friends apartment where I slept over...
left rear quarter panel fender and bumper there is a dent and a quarter size chip off of my tail light.............
just great.
what should i do? Any advice on doing a claim with insurance? SIGH.
I'll need to pay $500 deductible no matter what right? Can I somehow pay one deductible and have them pay to fix my front bumper too?
Thanks

sorry about ur loss...
something similar happened to me but this was just a "kiss"...basically an old lady driving ahuge ford truck hit trying to park hit my rear bumper and then saw me and drove away...so on top of another little scratch that got there at my school parkinglot...this crap made it look worse but i got quoted at 120 for the whole job =D
about your problem idk how insurance works but if 500 something minimum that u have to pay to get both ur rear and front bumpers fixed then go for it if u only have to pay 500...get a quote first, then file a claim

The physics of that doesn't make sense. If he were hit in the rear quarter panel fender (probably from someone backing out) then the car wouldn't go forward into a pole.
And if he tried to take care of the front bumper as part of the claim and the insurance company found out, he could probably end up getting in serious trouble.
I say just pony up the dough for the front bumper and pay the deductible for the rear fender. Sorry to hear that man. Good luck!

I misunderstood, I was thinking it hit him more on the rear bumper/tail light area...

Not everyone can afford the higher payments of going with a $100 deductable. I personaly have a $750 deductable and have never used my insurance for anything more than a cracked windshield, so I have definately saved over the years. I tend to insure for things that will ruin my life, not my day.
not just the rear bumper though. it's the quarter panel fender that is dented and chipped (paint)..
how much would that be to straighten it/etc. :x

say you were parked on a hill, someone hit your rear end and that made you let go of the brake, you rolled forward into something(dont say another car)
(youre still in your car, just make up a car descrip).

Make a claim dude. Eat the deductible and possible increase in the premium.
