B series tranny
Okay so i have an LS, i plan on boosting it but not anytime soon.
What is the best b series tranny that i can buy because LS trannys have long gears and b16's are too short....i was told GSR but just want to double check...
any help will be appreciated

I copied this from another thread I posted in a few days ago on the same topic. Which obviously means that you should take advantage of our "Search" feature, and you'll find out alot more information than you'll get in this thread. Since this has been covered so often...people are probably tired of repeating the same stuff. So what I post below may not make 100 percent sense since its taken out of context...but I just copied/pasted what I typed from another thread....Here's a link to the thread I'm talking about...

I agree with this man, and the other guys that suggested you keep the GSR trans. I've been a member of team-integra.net since 02' and there used to be a huge myth going around concerning the LS trans and boost.
The myth was that since the LS has longer gears, that is the best one to use for a turbo'd motor. The "logic" was that since the gears are longer, you'll stay in boost longer. I am not sure about the specifics, but a year or so after that (03') there was alot of evidence and tests posted 100% disproving this "myth".
So with all that said, the GSR trans was determined to be "all around", the best OEM 'out of the box' trans to use for a turbo B series. Of course the B16 and ITR trans also have short ratios, and they will work well with boost as well however the 5th gear of those transmissions tend to keep you in boost while you're on the highway, which many people do NOT prefer to be doing. Of course alot of factors come into play here such as exactly where your specific turbo starts to spool and whether or not you'll be in boost @ the 5th gear RPM or not.
Of course you also have custom built/ratio'd transmissions but that is NOT my piece of the pie, and I would consult H-T's tranny guru that goes by the highly-respected name "Bense" :bows: Some of the things I have said may not be 100% accurate as this is my half-educated opinion. I know I'm not talking complete bullshit, but if I said anything that needs to be corrected, I have no problem taking constructive criticizm and I am open to any suggestions that someone that surely knows more than I do on this subject, may have. With that said...
Good luck, and enjoy boosting!!!
