I just wanted to confirm that the ctr 99-00 sticks out just a few mm more.. I have both of them right here.

i have the si on my car and the ctr front and rear lip in my garage.

the oem ctr front lip sticks out just a few mm more. It does not look like the fake ebay ones where they stick out alot further kinda body-kit-styled, i had one.

 

I was under the assumption that they were the same part number...? Hmmm...

 

Si's are smaller than the Ctr lips and it looks cleaner . i would go for the Si

Don't listen to the idiots who say they aren't the same, because they are just that - idiots. The '99-00 EK9 and EM1 shared the same lip (which was also offered as a genuine Honda accessory for other models, and standard equipment on some other models such as the Vi-RS). OEM lip:



The discrepancy comes from the fact that most aftermarket "Type-R style" lips are not an exact replica of the OEM lip's profile. They typically jut out a little further longitudinally and vertically for a more aggressive appearance (although it just looks cheap IMHO). Aftermarket "CTR style":

If you ask me, if its worth it. I say hell no, becuase they are somewhat identical. But the ctr one which i have i my possession sticks out just a few millemiters, by the way, right now im selling jdm front and rear ctr lips becuase there are people out there are buying these jdm junk for rediculous price marks. If you are interested i have a 99-00 ctr front and rear lip fs.


Just get a Si one, if oem, which i have, its nice piece, any oem or oem material/aftermarket? if they have. i had scratched these lips and deep quite a few times in the past. It was an easy fix for me, as all i did was sand it down, and smooth it out then just got it repainted.

edit:: I'll try to bring in a few pictures for yall. if im able to bring out the differences between each lip. the si lip is on my hatch and the ctr painted vsm is around here somewhere. when i can ill post it on this thread.

I hear yall on that. im always on a budget aswell, even though yeah i have oem lip, but theres always people out there selling used parts or considering to change back to stock. thats where i got my oem si and ctr lip. si for 30 bucks including my pre 99-00 bumper/hoods. So hustle

 

damn. 30 bucks. lucky its hard to find an SI lip now a dayz under 100$ haha

 

yeah, i just happend to run into that deal, this dude in a hurry to change it back to stock form 99+ back to 97 style. I actually started out buying a ebay ctr style front and rear lip a few years back, the rear lip is still on my car. i really dont care one bit bout it being fake or not just atleast i have a lip and is holding on and flush, this is the rear lip. but if you want to know. the width of the oem ctr lip is actually bigger than the ebay ctr lip i have. it hangs a bit lower compared to the "style" version.

Too bad they fit like crap. Then when people see your car with the crap chinese made junk on the front, they go away laughing.
