Default 99' b20 in my da

a local shop near me has my new motor ready
it is a b20 bored to 85mm with 13.2:1 cp ratio pistons
I was going to use a 94 ls head, intake & harness

how much work is/will be invalved in switching to obd1
from my obd0 90' teg

I was planning on using a s200 to keep it running smooth

my brother and dad both have dc2s (a turbo gsr & a type r)
i want to give them a good run with my da. so any help would
be great
thanks,

B20 just drop a vtec head on it with eagle vtec oil line kit,.. Get some nice pistons , cams ,clutch and b16 or gsr tranny....turbo it ,tune it right and you should be able to beat both of them quater mile.....

Turbo it with 85mm and 13.2:1 compression??? WTF have you been smoking???

85mm with 13.2:1 compression is most likely going to be ugly unless its sleeved or you have some killer tuning. Pump gas and 13.2:1 just dont go together very well. Best bet is a vtec head, stage II or III cams and spend about $1000 on getting it tuned...then pray everynight that it doesnt blow up.

well i dont have a vtec head and the car is not a dd
also i can get 100 at the pump in town so 13.2 to 1
will be ok but why worry about going to 85mm will
this be a problem later?

84mm to 85mm is only .039 of a inch

i dident think that would be a issue

as far as a ls-vtec goes i was planning on
running a non-vtec ls head with a mild port
& 3 angle valve job.

this matched with stage 3 cams and duel valve
springs will be cheaper than a b16 head swap

anyways evorybody wants a vtec head i want to
do something differant with my car

I just finished a '01 B20 swap into my friends 96 integra. its got nice tq, but no top end. I have a JDM B16 XSi in my 92 integra gsr and I can still take him.

I would definitely suggest going B20/VTEC. It will be well worth it. And was the B20 sleeved then bored? because i believe the B20 cylinder walls are like H22 and are made with that composite stuff.

I just started an LS/VTEC build im gonna keep compression to around 12:1.

If you can get 100 octane, thats pretty good and lucky you. What gas station are you getting it from?

Buy a b16, B18c1 head and put some nice cams and valve train in there and have a good tune, and you would have over 220 whp and you'll have a very quick car.

** i have some skunk2 stage2 cams for sale if your interested.

Everybody wants a vtec head for a good reason.....because they make POWER. That plus going straight LS/B20 isnt different....just read all the NA LS threads....all the newbies say, "I want to be different" yet they are all the same. Anyway, .039" might not seem like much, but on cylinder walls that are already thin and notorious for cracking....it just doesnt seem like a good idea to weaken them further for a high performance application. They might hold up with 100 octane and good tuning. Ofcourse if you add nitrous they have no chance of lasting over about 6 months.

i will not use n2o it has cost me one engine
in the quest for horsepower

the b20 vtec is still a option but how much more
work would there be?

a new harness the head itself all add up to alot
of $$$$
does anyone sell a conversion harness?

what head is best for under a grand?

B20 VTEC is not hard.

Stock B20 block, Stock B16, B18c1, B18c5 Head.

Golden Eagle B20/VTEC Conversion Kit (Ebay), Golden Eagle Dowels (x2). Arp Head Studs. Arp Rod Bolts.

You can keep everything stock if you'd like, or you can put some nice cams, intake manifold, header, exhaust, throttle body and be well over 210whp.

You can find lots of heads on here or ebay anywhere from $300-$1000.

What kind of conversion harness are you talking about?

what other info would you like?
That engine wont really give a turbo gsr a run for its money, so you probably need to go a different route.

b20vtec would be pretty nice, OR
get lower compression pistons, sleeve it, and turbo it... Run a good amount of boost
