What can I get replaced due to recalls?
I drive a 1999 Accord with 126,000 miles on it that has a few problems. Distributor is going out causing the CEL to come on, the EGR ports are clogged causing the CEL light to come on, the seat belts don't retract all the way.
My question is, what exactly does the dealership fix for free? I hear different things from different posts some saying they purchase certain items, some say they were recalled (EGR for instance)
How do recalls work? Do i just drop my car off and they fix it free of charge?
Silly question I know, but it seems that a lot of people pay for things that other people are getting done for free. I'd love to get anything done for free if possible
Thanks

Recalls are free, because it can affect you car's performance and other important things in a car. Emmisions, safety, so and so
In your case, the car is beyond 5-6 years. Warranty is gone. So you get nothing for free. Now you have to pay.
Distributor cap:replace not free.
EGR:inspect and clean if clogged.
Seatbelt:As long as its doing its job, its fine. Honda wont replace it unless they are really cool.
