Koni Yellows in stock class SCCA Autox?
Do Koni Yellows meet stock class rules?
I had them on my Miata but wasn't concerned with classing so I ran them on the middle height adjustment with aftermarket springs. Is the top notch stock height? Would this meet the stock mounting and stock height requirement?
How would these act with stock springs? I basically want the adjustable valving to stiffen up the rear to get rid of some understeer. With my Miata I had it balanced enough that the shock adjustments totally changed the car.
Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Aaron

its legal. most choose the koni yellow as their shock of choice as im sure you know.
i have a miata, and i had koni yellows on mine as well
until i got a set of tein flex. but yes, a definite yes to your question. i am also thinking throwing some koni yellows on my latest GSR.

Thanks very much! I loved them in my Miata. It was extremely nice to have the car balanced so well that firming up or softening the rear shocks could induce major oversteer or bring it back to neutral. I really do hope that they can at least help get rid of some understeer in the civic. It's not an SI so no rear swaybar. Doughnuts at 100psi in the rear should help too. j/k.
ya miatas are very pleasing to tune. anything you do, and you will notice a very clear difference. i spent some time adjusting the suspension on the miata, and as i grew more comfortable, i started tuning away the high limit understeer with stiffer shock valving in the rear, it was PERFECT. truly a great sports car.
i just wish they had better, smoother transmissions, like hondas. it ruins the experience for daily driving. tis a shame...good luck with the autoxing. i may also try the GSR out bone stock with ecsta v700s (same tires i run on the miata), if it ends up being not as fun, back to the miata i will go

I have never heard of Koni Yellows adjusting ride height. They adjust stiffness.

To be stock legal, you've got to use the perch that is the same location as the stock perch on the stock shock. It should be easy to find, it'll be the one without paint in it (since the circlip is in there when they paint them).
