Before I make this thread I would like to apologize for making this thread. I'm pretty sure this question has been asked but I have searched for half an hour and cant find the answer .

When converting a LHD car to a RHD car , the RHD Clip eliminates the VINS on the dash and on the firewall. Is it actually legal to do this ? has anyone had any issues with this.

From what I know some people just move 'em onto the new dash & firewall.

Hey dood, even though you didnt sell me your wheels i am replying to your thread on the rhd conversion. my car is an eg rhd that i converted about 5 years ago. i swapped the vin from the jdm dash to my usdm dash, and when i cut the firewall out i kept the top portion so i dont mess with the firewall vin. i had the car ref'd and smogged and everything was fine. the only extra steps i had to take were to add the srs airbag system back on the car, use a dot approved windshield and use the usdm speedometer. my motor is original, my car is registered and my local police department knows my car. there is nothing illegal about it and i have read just about every piece of litereture on rhd conversions in Ca available. rhd itself is not what makes a car illegal. i would be glad to answer any questions you may have about the process but it is very, very easy.

 

im pretty sure this has been asked before but ..is the car considered salvaged after a rhd conversion?? cuz i just bought i front clip for my 92 prelude and im about to start on it. oh and another thing wut if i dont let dmv know about it is it illegal???
