ID this ECU for me?
I was told when I bought it (E-bay), that it was a "virgin" P72 OBD1 JDM ECU. Well it's not "virgin" (stupid E-bayers), anyone can see it's been socketted for some type of chip. ...and now I'm not 100% sure it's the JDM ECU, anyone have a picture of the USDM P72 obd1 ecu? I need to figure our what board I have.
The main connector reads:
37820-P72-A01
813-115357 3G15
this is a picture of the main IC board:

i know the JDM ecu's are smaller, but I haven't seen one personally.
Though, the board size is certainly not a USDM OBD1 board. It's too small.
I would bet it's a JDM OBD1 P72.
edit: i'm completely wrong.

Walter,
Why are you using the P72? Do you want to keep the intake butterfly secondaries & knock sensor? You could get a P28 for a lot cheaper than a P72. And a P28 could even be rewired to control the secondaries as well.

From Hondata's site:
http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html
They say the P72 has VTEC, IAB, and Knock
and the P28 is VTEC only, without IAB, and Knock.
thus, I figured the P72 was the way to go.

Hey Walt, I have my P72 w/Hondata S100 for sale on eBay. You might be able to get it cheap and you could just sell that one you already have.
And yes it is also a 37820-P72-A01 which is the USDM 94-95 GSR ECU.

seem the OP does have a USDM ecu.
And why would he want to buy your setup? He's got the exact same ecu. Or am i missing something?

Mine has the s100 already in it and has been tuned to a Prelude almost exactly like his. He would still want to get it tuned better but it does have value over the P72 that he already has.

Good thing it isn't JDM auto ECU as JDM P72 ECUs aren't socketable and aren't in the same family as other OBDI Civic/Integra ECUs. That ECU is already socketed but you will have to redo it for an S300. It isn't a big job for someone with proper rework equipment.

Me too which is why I'm selling this one. Did you see the upgrade package?
http://www.hondata.com/s300upgradeform.html I think it was only good until the end of last year though. You might check...
