02' S2000 CEL came on
So yesterday I was driving the S home from work and I accelerated to pass a slower driver. As soon as I passed 6000 rpms, and engaed VTEC the car bogged and the check engine light came on. (The car was warmed up, and I just had an oil change and the rev limiter did not come on) The car felt very strange and sluggish so I immediatly slowed down and dropped to 4000 rpms. After about 15-25 seconds the check engine light turned off. After that I called my dealership and of course all they told me to do was to dring it in. The strange thing is today on my way over to the dealership the car felt ok. Has anyone ever had a similar problem? The tech at Honda said there is a spark plug recall which they will do, and said the engine possibly could have missfired. Any info would be appreciated.

I just went to the Honda website with the tech @ Honda and there was a spark plug recall from 02' that was never done. They are doing that as we speak. Yes the car did have about have a tank of gas, no clue about the map sensor.

when they did the oil change the guy could have maybe not put enough oil in the car. So i would check ur oil levels because thats exactly what happined to me.
I always check the levels after an oil change, plus I supply the dealership with my own oil. The strange thing is, is that my car has burnt a little less than a quart of oil in a little over than 1000 miles. The dealership has told me in the past that this is normal for S2K's. I know there are a lot of threads on this topic. It seems as thought most people say that an 02' S2000 should not burn that much oil. I am planning on dealing with this issue at the dealership when I have more time.
