Hi my name is dan i recently put an h22a swap into my 92 honda accord. The swap is pretty easy so i did it myself and it is running pretty good. Although my check engine light is on and i have checked the codes and it says that something is wrong with the egr valve and the tdc sensor. I don't know where i should start because it seems like my engine is backfiring when i hit powerband aka v tech. although a lot of power is still coming out of the engine i don't think it is at it's full capabilty. The engine also seems to govern itself at 120 which i know is a little off. The redline is at 7800 and the engine seems to run fine...could it be that the egr valve is throwing off he tdc and creating the ecu to govern itself early??? please help with this post thank you!!!

 

Did you use a JDM or USDM motor and/or dizzy? I know when you use a USDM dizzy it throws the EGR code pretty much all the time.

As for the TDC code, what is the actual code number? Is it the TDC sensor itself that is messed or is the car not timed properly? If it's the TDC sensor itself the car could be having a hard time reading TDC and that would throw your timing off. If it's the actual timing itself you'll want to adjust that and time it properly.

Would be nice to know what the actual codes are though.
