Default Anyone had this happen to them?

i was changing my oil (5w30 max life ) and while waiting for oil to drain, i removed the ft upper strut bar for no apparent reason and when i was screwed nut back on, i snapped one of the screws on the chassis for the nut! Now my question is, would this hinder the performance of the strut bar? On another note, I also stripped the lug nut while i was at it, broke the **** in my sink, and rip my pants. I dont care about the **** or pants, but now i dont think i can remove the kyokogen lug nut. Are there any tools that can remove stripped lug nuts?

Damn, that sounds like a bad day...

I have heard of people stripping the strut bar bolts many times before...they are only supposed to be torqued to 17 ft/lbs (which feels like nothing).

Man...I stripped one of the rear ones when I was installing my spoon rear strut tower bar. I ended up stripping my interior and kept on stripping it till I could no longer strip it anymore. Then I used a one size smaller socket and hammered it and my friend wrenched off. GOOD LUCK!

I usually tighten that nut till my arms are shaking and my veins are protruding out...

The front strut tower bolts are only supposed to be torqued to 17 ft./lbs., but I think the rear is like 49 ft./lbs. If you torqued the front until it couldn't go any tighter, you are lucky you didn't snap the stud...

Yeah, that's probably why people break the studs so often...

I'm pretty weaksauce...so I'm guessing that I tightened them a bit much still though. Once I get my tq wrench, I'm retqing everything I ever took off.
