Default Pulling Motor w/o cherry picker

I need to pull my b16 out of a 97coupe, but I don't have a cherry picker. What's the best way to pull it out? And what kind of other equipment would I need. Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

About how high should I jack it up, and what would I put underneath to catch the motor? Should I take off the tranny first? As you can tell, I have no experience what-so-ever on this topic, so any detailed instructions would be great.

Ek's are pretty easy to drop motors out of, But you will need help from atlest one other person. I'd keep the trans on just pull the axles.

the front end needs to be about 25-30 inches off the ground. we just pulled a blown zc motor out of a rex 2 days ago this way. but we were able to pull the head first and drag the block out from underneath. motor was shot anywho. bent a rod and shattered another, cracked the crank graddle too!!!

like everyone stated,

take your tires off, pull your axles, drop the car down all the way down, unbolt all necessary bolts that is hold the motor to the car, jack the car up as high as you can get it, push the motor out and tada...your done pulling your motor...to put other motor in, do what you just did, but backwards..

Good Luck!!

Yup! I agree! Pull it from the bottom. I havent done this yet, but this will be my way of doing next time. It also saves the paint from being scratched up in the engine bay.
