installing a tachometer
The easiest is to just install a gauge cluster that already has a tach.
That falls at about a 2.
Also, a stock DX motor has zero potential except for fuel economy.

Very easy, just lowers the steering wheel all the way,get a screw driver and unscrew 2 screws on top of the cluster youll see it,then take out the clock,a couple of bolts here and there and youre dash is out and now you can change the cluster.I think its something like that.Heres a write up:

I think he was talking about a tach....like one of those 5 1/2" ricer ones from fast and furious - not a cluster w/ a tach...

It's 3 screws that hold the trim piece on, and 4 screws that hold the cluster in...and I think 3 plugs in the back?
Not exactly rocket science.

And the Sunpro tach is about $130 gayer than than an EX cluster.

You look at a wiring diagram or the 1001 write-ups on how-to do it and simply match the wire colors.

Plug and play a gauge clust off of ebay.
First thing is to remember the single screw behind the hazard switch.
Don't drop thos screws into the dash or you will be ticked!
...and pry easy with two screw drivers on the hazard warning and the cluster bezel.
It's a must-fo swap!

i have a 97 dx and i bought a tach for 25 bucks and took me 20 minutes to install. your car is already pre wired for a tachometer. just pop the hood and look for the bllue wire on the right side near the firewall (if looking from the nose to the rear) and plug your **** up in the fuse box
