the check engine light that won't go away
I have a check engine light that is throwing a multiple cylinder misfire on my 99 Prelude. I have replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. I also ran an injector cleaner through the gas tank. After all that I turned off the check engine light and low and behold that irratating light decided to come back for more..
So the other day I took the vehicle in to the local Honda dealer and had them do a valve clearance adjustment. And hey, you guessed it, that damn light is still lit like it's christmas.
So my question for you all, since I'm relatively new to the whole tech side of Honda is - What else could possibly cause a cylinder misfire? I can't figure it out and either could a couple of Honda technicians I talked to..
Guidance away from this money pit my "reliable" Honda has taken me into would be great

do a compression test and let us know what numbers you're pushing. I had the same exact problem with my first motor. Come to find out, all the valves were pretty much burnt out and I had a crack in 2 of the valves in cylinder 2
I don't think it's the valves or the cylinders themselves since I just got those checked yesterday. I have not done a compression test or a vacuum test but I will try and get that done this weekend time permitting.
Revi, that graph is VERY helpful and I greatly appreciate it. If that wasn't already pulled from the archives, it should definitely be in there.
EDIT: To the EGR comment - I had originally though that was the problem but it idles perfectly, if the EGR was a problem, I was told that would not be the case.
