Default clear coat for bare aluminum (?)

any suggestions for coating bare aluminum for added durability?

what exactly are you clear coating?!

Depending on what you are working with, the clear may not "stick" to the surface without a good sanding..... that means.... clear coat on top of a scratched aluminum surface.

What are you wanting to do?

they sell a spray clear for aluminum called nylack ... try eastwood catalog or maybe summit ..

well if you can rough up the surface(80-220 grit) you can use a matte trim and jamb clear. That's a 1K type of clear coat, costs about 15-20 dollars a can.

If you know of a DuPont jobber near you, get a can of A-7460S, little more expensive than some products, but its worth the extra money.
