Prelude AutoTransmission Help
Hi,
Im new to this forum and new to honda preludes, its my first car thats automatic and i havent got a clue bout the transmission, i was wondering if some could tell me what gear i should drive the car normally (1,2,D3,D4). also, can i change while driving and what gears are best for inclines.
i tried driving it today and i had all the pickup in gear 1, but was bit sluggish for a 2.2 VTEC in D4, so i would appreiciate the help.
Model:
Honda Prelude SI VTEC Auto 2.2 1992
Thanks in Advance,

well you i hope your's isn't a 00-01 lude. cuz their auto tranny's are destined to crap out on you for no reason. but i hear honda is offering a free repair due to a lawsuit? idno. anyway. if you just want to drive from point a to point b, just keep it in d4 and let the auto tranny do it's thing.. that is what it's made for. and yes you can change gears while your driving that's why it's a tiptronic. if you don't know what gear to drive it.. i'd say keep it in d4 before you hurt yourself. and for inclines. normally 2nd gear is good. oh whoops! i just realized your's a 92. scrap what i said about the 00-01 ludes then.. im off today.. don't expect the lude to be some kind of speed demon straight from hell. at least not stock anyway.

thanks for the help,
im not quite sure what model my prelude is, its an import, it says SI VTEC on a sticker on the passenger door, and has the DOHC VTEC 2.2 engine, also, its an auto with climate control, cruise control, air con, and eleciric mirros and windows etc,
i would appreicate it if someone could tell me the exact year and model,
thanks in advance.
