your car is in limp mode. It runs the engine rich and puts a rev limiter at about 3500 to keep from messing up your engine. You probably have a code too.

exactly, its in limp mode. i would check the wiring with the dizzy. i remember when i swapped a d16y8 into an eg and i redid the wires for the dizzy. well it was completely wrong and the motor was dumping fuel out of the headers. but i had a cel, so check that if you have one on

whoa dude, hold on there. You cant just make such bold assumptions. That might have been the case for you, but there are alot of other reasons his car would do what it is doing.

ok well im not new to this guys,i have tried 3 known good ecu's and changed/replaced everything on the engine, the timing is right , o2 sensor ,tps, map, iat fit, alternator, injectors, fuel filter fuel ,pump, distributor, pgmfi main relay, checked codes, throttle body gasket, plugs, wires, cap, button, iac, you should see what a cherry red cat looks like!running real lean, adjusted valves, only thing i can figure is that there is some homo-wiring under the dash.
wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf WTF! BY THE WAY THE CAR RAN FINE WITH THIS SWAP IT IS NOT IN THE SWAP ITSELF ACTUALLY OUTRAN A COUPLE VW'S

you say you tried more then one ecu?. limp mode is either bad ecu, bad program, bad grounds.

DONT TYPE IN ALL CAPS OR I WILL E-KICK YOU IN THE NUTS!!! Its annoying as hell.

Anyway, I am surprised your not throwing a cel. Make sure that your cel light in the dash is even there, some people will take that bulb out to mask any problems before selling a car. Just a thought, its happened before.

did you check the firing order on the distributor and properly match it with the cyl's? something stupid like that will cause this, always think small first.
