rev limiter???

Default rev limiter???

Hey guys,

i jus bought my type r 2 weekends ago n have been drivin it a bit hard. I hit the rev limiter tonite at 9xxx rpms. Is that ok??? I know my past H22A equiped accord sir was fine. How strong r B18C5 motors?? This is a 99 jdm spec type r. Also my clutch is making some noise when i let my foot off. Wat cud be the reason?? Its not worn or anything...

The rev limiter is there for a reason. The C5 is one of the strongest motors out there made for high revving. Me personally wouldn't go crazy though, 1-2 times a day ok, but at every stop NO.

Your motor should be fine. There are guys on this board who have built motors that rev up to 10K. And the noise from ure clutch, mine has a slight squeek as well when i depress and release the pedal if that makes ya feel any better. Probably jus a spot that needs some grease so unless someone believes otherwise, im sure shes OK.

Yea i just did my 60k tuneup. My clutch also was making a squeeking. I lubed it up... good for now! Another way to look at it is that some people track their car every weekend. You know they are beating the hell out of them and altough most go without any problems, but I have heard of a few problems after a while. So looking at it from that point of view you should be fine reguardless.
