d16z6 swap in ef hatch
ok ill start off with this im doing a d16z6 swap into a ef hatch, i dont know what model it is but its 4 speed and throttle body injected. i really want to use the z6 hydraulic transmission, but im running into a few hurdles. The rear engine mount is too far to the left [passengers side], but there is a nut thats factory welded into the crossmember to the right of that mount, and i checked out a crx in the junkyard today and the crx mount uses this nut to mount to, so it moves it over to the right a little bit, but im not sure if its enough for the z6 tanny to fit with the z6 tranny bracket. Is this the mount i need to use for the z6 tranny, or do i need to swap the rear crossmember, i think i remember reading something about using an si rear crossmember, but i cant find the info know that i actually need it.
any help is apperciated thanks

i already bought the tranny for a 100, wich isnt that big of a deal if i dont use, because i could put it in my eg, also already have flywheel and exedy clutch i got almost nothing, would the exedy clutch for a z6 work with a crx cable tranny, also what motor does the crx si come with. the one i saw in the junkyard had no badges but i think it might have been an si it had a mpfi manifold
bump because i think everyone one this site thinks i just a noob that knows notheing even though ive been in the honda seen for over three years and just forgot my user name because i only post when i really cant find the answere to something. I would post up some pics of my daily driver d16 turbo eg hatch but my camera doesnt work.

You must have a Std. Hatch like me. Std. Hatchs are 4 speed and DPFI (Dual Point Fuel Injected) A DX would be 5 speed and DPFI.
I've never heard of this 'swapping of rear crossmembers'. The motor mounts between 88-91 Civic/CRX's do not change at all except Auto vs Manual (I've owned both Hatch and CRX) So why would the crossmembers be any different? Unless someone tried some EG (92-95 Civic) Rear Crossmember swap. Not sure it that is possible.
Companies like Hasport etc make motor mounts that allow you to drop a Hydro tranny into your EF.

CRX Si comes with a MPFI D16A6 (1xx hp). The CRX HF is also MPFI but has a D15B6 (62 hp). You can really see a difference by comparing throttles. The HF will have one that looks the size of a soda bottle cap LOL and the Si will be more like 2.5 - 3 inches. Also, the HF has an EGR Valve (left side of the intake manifold) and the Si does not (fairly sure)

If I were you, I'd source an L3 transmission, preferably from an Si. The cable-clutch "Si" gearing is shorter and better spaced than the hydraulic-clutch "EX" transmission gearing, and it is a direct bolt-in for your STD hatchback - no worrying about mounts or clutch conversions or any of that.

i think i going to get the si i tranny because i just talked to a kid that knows some one who has one he'll sell, i called hasport and innovative and both companies dont make a cable to hydro conversion for the d series anyways, or any kind of mounts. Even though im not going to do the z6 tranny i was checking out this kids da integra and the rear motor mount bracket and mount is way simillar to the z6 and looks like it might have worked.
I only have one more question does any body know if the z6 with a z6 flywheel and clutch will work with the crx si tranny or do i need the flywheel and clutch off of the crx?

engine series such as dseries are interchangable for that whole series the only reason for the tranny problem is the body style so your clutch and flywheel are good for the z6 or the si tranny

No, that is not true. Just because an engine is stamped with the same series designation does not mean everything is interchangeable.

That is not true for all cases. If he gets an '88 transmission, the input shaft will have 21 splines and will not work with a Z6 clutch disc. He would have to get an '89 or newer transmission to reuse his Z6 clutch.
He also will need a release bearing for the cable-clutch transmission, because the hydraulic-clutch release bearing won't work.
