Looking To Purchase A 1997 Accord SE Coupe ... Suggestions?
Anything I should look for ... as far as typical things that will go "wrong"?? Or potential rust spots etc. I know that Hondas are susceptible to rust damage on the "older" models, but how are they now? I have a 1990 CRX (as you can tell by my user name), and I'm selling it to get this Accord - Once a Honda man, always a Honda man.
I am vouching for shan.
why thank you brian.

there really should not be too much to look for on a 97 se...make sure the tranny shifts good, find one with low miles...and enjoy

So you're all saying that this is an excellent car? The 1997 Accord SE in general that is - There are no "known problems" with this car.
I've had my eye on this car for YEARS now, and I'm very close (within a week or so) to making the move.
I want an Accord which is perfectly cherry. I am an electronics installer, and I'm going to take the stereo out of my CRX and put it in the Accord. I want to build this car from "scratch". That means starting with a completely stock vehicle, and "upgrade" from there.

Jeezzz ... All I wanted was some friendly advice here ....
I want the 1997 Accord SE Coupe Red Automatic - Why? Because I'm sick of stick, I want AC, I absolutely love the way this model looks in red, and it's bigger and more comfortable than my CRX - I guess you could say I'm getting old.
What would I like to do with upgrades? No engine swap BS (because if I'm gonna do that, I'll save my $$ and get an RSX). Probably get a cold air intake, exhaust, punch the cat, headers (maybe), and most importantly suspension!! Lower it a little, 16" wheels, sway bars (upper and lower) and then ... Enjoy it!
The suspension upgrades will be first BTW.

man im just kiddin with you...even tho its an auto you can still do some mods to it...it doesnt matter....if you like it..then get it..dont let us stop you
all those mods sound like a good plan...but definatly get a header...but im not sure about hollowing out the cat...i heard bad things about that...but im prolly wrong on that part...but have fun with it...
oh and btw...if it doesnt work you my car is still for sale!
