Default OEM JDM Type R header vs. Replica

Ive looked around for something but can find that much and I was wondering if there are any differences between the two when there both made to the same specs. Bc I can pick up a OEM one for 200 or buy a brand new replica one for about the same. Also this will fit in my price range. Which one do you guys recommend to get?

the OEM will have plates welded on to allow a heatshield to be bolted onto it.

The replicas have the same brackets for the heat shield. The OEM JDM 4-1 header will have a stamp on it that looks something like this:

don't buy the replicas they are junk I was about to pick up a set from street imports/Yanaka and the workmanship was horriable, I showed the little runt there about the welds and agreed about the shitty work and would't lower the price usually they don't allow for pick ups so you never know what you will get

I had a replica SS JDM 4-1 that I picked up for about $220 brand new from Street Imports a couple years ago. Fitiment was fine but the welds were complete ****. Only tack welded on the outside of the flange and the collector looked to be a bit of a hack job. It served it's purpose but I eventually upgraded to the Toda piece.

I'm not sure what the welds look like on the OEM piece since I've never seen one in person.

What !? Damn. I bought what I believed to be JDM 4-1 ITR headers and it didn't have those stamps but the welds and stuff look great. Doesn't look like a hack job by any means.. And it has the brackets for the heat shield too

The DC has larger primaries and (IMHO) a better merge at the collector.

However, the OEM has the advantage of running heat sheilding, which makes the engine bay look stockish if that is your goal.
