Default b18c1 Garrett GT3076r or GT35R! Check out my set up!

Hey guys, need your guys advise in choosing the right turbo for my set up. My redline will be 9200k RPM. Im looking for a very strong top end.

Turbo's to choose from:
Garrett GT3076r OR Garrett GT35R

Here's my engine specs:

Engine is a b18c (R)
Bored to 81.5mm, Wiseco 9:0 comp turbo pistons, Eagle rods, Eagle Crank, Acl Bearings.
Head has Full Omni Power Valvetrain as well as CTR cams, AEBS Ported intake mani, Skunk2 68mm TB, RC750cc injectors, Golden Eagle Fuel Rail, B&M FPR w/ Guage etc...
Also running a Walbro 255lph fuel pump as well

Tranny im running is 2001 USDM Type R transmission, with ACT Prolite 8lb flywheel and ACT Stage 3 max xxxtreme clutch kit with 6 puck unsprung disc.

Manifold is Ramhorn made by Jay Thornton aka sillysohc. 3" downpipe into full 3" mandrel bend exhaust.

Any input/suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Travis

this is my daily driver car.

Looking to make a reliable 450+ whp

Any links on the suggested FPR's?

Also guys any estimations on spool up time difference between the 2 turbo's would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Travis

essex (sx) part number #15404

not sure how reliable it will be with 450+hp daily driven. you will have problems regardless of if you have the best and most expensive parts. id shoot for 350ish whp daily driven and i would use an aftermarket ignition system such as msd or m&w. 30r will spool a little quicker, but 35r will spool relatively quick with more top end

yes they do have vac/boost reference on them.

i'd like to see full boost at around 5k rpm.

Or would I be seeing that with either turbo?

you should rougly see that with either turbo. the 30r will see it probably a good 500 rpms sooner though. Give or take.

And you say this why???? I know of PLENTY of people who use the FPRs successfully, I plan on running one so a well thought response would be cool.....

Thx </TD></TR></TABLE>

ive tuned atleast 8-10 cars where they took a ****, car would start going lean. Put an OEM reg back on and everything was great.

Thanks for the advise.

What would be the appropriate aeromotive FPR to use with my set up?
And will it work with my Golden Eagle rail? or will I need to mod anything?

let me know
THanks
Travis

to answer the OP without a doubt the 30r would be the better turbo no question.

you invested all this money and you dont have a sleeve block.
get it sleeved if you are going over 9k.
is just me.

Agreed. Could you do 350 maybe 450? Yeah if you were lucky. I would say just go ahead sleeve your block for the money and rebuild it so you have a brand new turbo on a fresh rebuild. just my opinion

oh, i didnt see that you dont have your block sleeved. 450whp isnt adviseable because you may have issues. i would go with the 30r and aim around 350whp

i recomend the Gt3076. im running the 3076 with the .63 a/r. 2007 will be the 4th year useing the same set up 471hp@18psi on pump gas(517hp@23psi on race gas), 1000cc injectors, 255 walbro pump, stock ignition, stock fpr, stock fuel rail, stock throttle body(more infor on my car in my sig), and thats on a conservitive tune).
there should be no reason why you cant make the hp you want and still daily drive it. its not like you'll be in full boost and 9000rpms everytime the car is moving forward(even though you'll probably wanna be ).

nice numbers dontblink, 4 years strong thats reliablity at its finest there.

to the OP u have to draw the line somewhere, people here are saying you should have sleeved your block but if you think about it, then people would have said damn its sleeved why not make 600+whp, and thats twin disk territory. so now thats an extra 2500 bucks instead of 1k. and then with 600+ u would want a new fuel system, maybe some more solid ignition components.

that said get yourself a 30r....make 400-450whp on pump gas, 500ish in race gas and call it a day.

DontBlink

What is your spool up time with that gt30?

And are you still using your ITR LSD tranny?

oh also guys, My Manifold is made up with a t3 flange to hold the turbo, and flanged for a tial 38mm wastegate.
I have a Tial 38mm wastegate as well.

Will I be ok running the tial 38mm wastegate with either one of these turbo's?

Thanks for the dyno charts.

im not the greatest at reading dyno charts, but to me it looks like they are spooling up and making full boost at almos the same RPM. full boost around 5k?

u cant really use the extra power the gt35r can give you since your not sleeved. so why would you not get the better spool of the gt30r.

only reason im still questioning the 35r is because ie. say it took 17lbs of boost to get me 450whp with the 30R. And it only takes 14lbs of boost to make that same power with the 35R with relativly the same spool up time.

Since im on stock sleeve's, would my engine be safer making the same power on less boost with the 35R?

Or am I thinking about it in the wrong way?
