tune it safely, and you could probably run 15 psi with a huge high flow kit, making around 300 HP if you want.

they are strong with a no-detonation tune and a good turbo setup.

I would not make more than around 200hp on the stock rods. They are just not very strong.

as far as complete kit what should i look for, went on ebay, saw the search forum advising to be careful with ebay
whats the difference between these 2 kits

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

what should i expect to spend on a complete kit, or is it better to source my parts individually, and what do i look for if i try to source everything out individually, my girl is hell bent on having a faster car then mine. At what expense thats left to be seen, thanks guys.

Why dont you read and then source your parts individually so you can learn more at the same time.

I'm not hating but you're new and you've described that the reason you're turboing this motor is so you're girlfriend can have a faster daily driver than you? Maybe she should be doing some research too then. What numbers don't you understand? Lag is how long it takes for the turbo to make power. Bigger turbo = more lag = more power (eventually). Like I said before, piece the kit together yourself. There is a FAQ about exactly what you need to turbo the car and reliably...

your right dude that faq answers a great deal of my questions, appreciate that man, i know what lag is and that a bigger turbo equals more lag, its the whole t3/t4
or t4, why do they say t3/t4 why is not just a t3, and then the whole trim, i dont understand, everything when they start talking about specs is what confuses me,
thanks for the help dude.

6-7psi you will be fine. The rods are very weak but they will hold. As long you dont make no more than 230whp you will be fine. If its tune thats good but the rods just cant handle it but they may hold for a while. hope this helps.

It takes alot of reading... I'm in the same boat. Sometimes there is just so MUCH information that you can't figure out what to look at. I've got my turbo setup up and running, albeit not running GREAT *laughs*, but I've still got lots of learning to do

I'm working on turboing my D15b at the moment also. I have been gathering parts for about a month now (as funds permit). The first thing I started with was Corky Bells book Maximum boost. It may be lame to some but it helped me with the basics as well as the faq. For your D15 I would seriously look here:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1643764

To the guy who said they are just not reliable. Can you explain why? Bad experience? Known parts that are prone to failure? I'm all ears.

I thought that the motor was just as capable as a D16z6. Same head, crank, rods.

Goodluck with the project. Sounds like fun.

I'm collecting parts to build a D15B Turbo. Vitara pistons, Eagle rods, ARP hardware, Stock head and a 57 trim. I'm shooting for 250-300whp - it should be a fun street car

I agree with everyone else, read, read, and then read some more. Between HT, TurboD16, and D-series there is a wealth of info out there
