get some 50dollar pioneer speakers. make sure they're 6.5". they're better than factory replacement but not too out of ur budget. you will need to either splice into the harness or buy a speaker harness adapter to install them. also u may need to possibly drill new speaker holes.
There are more then a few speakers out there that will do the job, and will be an easy install, especially with speaker harness adapters, You will need to find a standard 6.5" speaker, [not to be confused with the newer over-sized 6.5" speakers, a standard 6.5" speaker uses a 5" mounting hole, and you need one wit a mounting depth of 2" or less.
Both Pioneer and Infinity have one.
The Infinity REF6012SI come with an adapter ring so you can mount it using stock holes... http://www.infinitysystems.com/carau...er=REF&Cat=MEL
The Pioneer has a 6.5" "G" series speaker that will fit, there are a few others, many more that are deeper then 2", cutting the back out of the speaker housing can get you 1/2" - 1" of extra depth, and/or a depth reducing ring can be used for up to another inch.

2way=midrange and tweet. 3way= midrange and 2 tweeters... etc. if you're looking for factory replacements then go with a 2way cause i'm almost sure u have factory tweets. then your highs will be nuts unless u disconnect them.

Before you buy your speakers what are you using to power them? Stock headunit or aftermarket?

I also would stick with 2ways, I ran two sets of Eclipse 6.5" 2ways for about 6 mo. off the stock HU and Alpine changer, then replaced the HU with an Alpine CDA-7893, still have the 7893 and the Eclipse 2ways, although the speakers have since been custom installed.
Unfortunately Eclipse no longer has a 2way coax, they have the SE8365, a 6.5" 3way... http://www.eclipse-web.com/integrated/se8365.html still a very good speaker, just a little bright for me, it is however almost a plug and play install, 5" mounting hole and under 2" in depth, the mounting holes will even line up with the ones in the stock plastic speaker housings.
As for wattage, no more the 50W continuous and you what to look at speaker sensitivity, anything over 89dB is good.

go with a 2way regardless. dont buy into the hype of more is better when it comes to the number of speakers. its actually almost the complete opposite.
or
your best bet is to find someone whos upgraded their door speakers and still has their originals laying around. try posting a WTB on any local forums. if you're happy with stock sound then the best thing to do is replace with stock. not many speakers are going to sound like them. (most will have much better response)
