Default How to install component speakers?

My friend has a 2000 civic ex and wants to upgrade his speakers
So he has the amp wired up, all that is needed are the speaker wires

I was told to run the wires through the harness in the door jam
Problem is, getting to that harness

Are there any instructions or tips on how to do it? It seems a bit complicated (I'm a noob at audio installation)

You could put the components in the door and use the oem speaker wires as the component inputs.

Unless he is planning on putting in a competition stereo system, there is no NEED to rewire the new speakers. Just use the factory wires.

if you are looking to mount the crossovers inside your car vs in the door then rewiring thru the molex is the way to go. I want to do this for my car eventually.

How else would you get speaker wire running from an amplifier to the input of the crossover for the components? Especially if the crossover is mounted inside the door. If you wire them this way, you can put the crossover inside your car and run the output wires of the crossover thru the molex, saving your crossover from some possible water damage

At the deck, run your speaker wires towards the amplifier instead of wiring it to the deck. Now, that wasn't hard...was it?? I have installed numerous crossovers mounted on the door and there is no visible sign of water damage. Just don't leave it danglinig at the bottom of the door.
