Default Rear windshield defroster copper line burned out??

car: 1995 civic Lx 4drs, 5spd Manual, 230k miles on it.

ok so it's cold here with the snows and all..turn on my rear defroster and after 20mins only 2 line shown up..so there's only 2 line across the entire rear windshield defrosted..so much for having rear defroster..from the look of it this car had tint in the past, and when the tint was removed the copper lead must have comes out with it too..what i want to know is, is there an replacement somewhere out there that i can buy without having to replace the entire windshield with a new one?? a friend of mine said he can try to resolder the copper lead but i'm sure that would take forever to do..i'm pretty sure it's not as easy as he think..would that work though?? resolder the copper lead i mean..

opinion?? comment??

there are "patch" kits you can get to fix small scratches and missing spots. if your missing the whole damn line it wont help ya, but if its just tiny cute and rips it might be worth a shot.

try autozone, pepboys exc.
