Default hey guys need help

so my battery dies today, so i go out and buy a new one car starts but i noticed that at idle my dash and headlights are dim as i get up in rpm's the dash lights and headlights get normal again this is especially noticable when the heat is on the heat go from weak to strong. i live in toronto and its like -20 celsius, any ideas guys?

I'd have your alternator checked. Sounds like symptoms of one going downhill.
