Pulsing dash lights?????
Hey guys, well i was wondering, before when i started and drove my car my volt meter would read 14.5 volts with all my accessorys(gauges, etc) but now when i start it in the morning, it fluctuates between 14.5 to 12.8 and the dash lights flicker and so do my headlights when their on but when i drive it just stays on 12.8 volts????? would any one know the explanation for that???? any info is appreciated

I'd go with grounds too, since your alternator's new. I doubt its the dimmer, since the headlights flicker too.

?HUH? WHAT?
when the dimmer switch goes out, the headlights do not flicker. you do know i'm talking about the grey dimmer switch on the dash, not the headlight switch around the steering column.

probably grounds...but could be your dimmer swicth. mine would just come on and then i would hit a bump and they would go out...and a friend's would almost never work till she hit the dash where the dimmer switch is and they would come on.

Read the OP. He said his headlights flicker when they're on. Since the dimmer would not make the headlights flicker, it's not the dimmer.
OP: Grounds! take 'em all of, hit 'em with some emery cloth, and tighten 'em back. If that doesn't do it, check your battery terminals. It's something in that charging system.
