Default How do I put in the code for my radio?

I put in new foglights for my car and consequently I disconnected the battery. Now I need to put in a code to get my radio working again but I'm having a little trouble. Before you tell me to check my manual, I already did. It tells me to use the preset buttons. I'm looking for a little clarification. The numbers on my presets are only 1-6 and my code has numbers in it that are greater than 6. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You've got to add up the first and third numbers, multiply them by 4 then find the square root of that number and divide it by 2... that should give you the correct code. ....

Anti-theft/radio codes are 5 digits and should be with all your other "paper work" ... or as mike said your dealership can get it for you, OR you can hold 1 and 6 down at the same time, get the serial number and have the parts or service dept run the serial number and get you the code. Ultimate easiest way tho is to look through your paperwork/manual and find the 5 digit access code

Are you positive that is your radio code? On honda units the numbers should not exceed the highest number on your preset buttons. See if it is on a sticker somewhere in your glovebox or door jams.

Yeah my code was all 1's, 2's and 3's. It was located on a small flat card (about the size of a credit card) and was in a ziplock plastic bag paper clipped to my manual. I'm not saying yours is, but there should definitely be a card somewhere that tells you the code.

Its probably not even a key code ... most sidewinder key codes start with a letter and are followed by 3 numbers...

Lol don't worry those weren't my key numbers. I changed them. It is something similar to that but not the same. I found my radio code (finally). They were nice enough to write it down on the inside of my service manual. It's all se now. Once again thanks to everyone for helping me out and not making me feel stoopid.

You wont need an anti-theft code if you install an aftermarket headunit.

Disconnecting the battery may turn the CEL for a little while but the DTC will still be stored and the light is likely to come back on.

The CAI is the cause of your CEL... improperly installing a HU wont give you a check engine light

So when the cold air is installed properly and the battery is re-connected and no CEL comes on, do you still have to get the ECU reset by the dealer to remove the stored DTC or does it automatically remove itself?
