This question is equivalent to saying, "I'm hungry, what should I eat?"

You've given us no goals, no budget, and no preferred path.

i agree, how much money do you have to spend? i would start off with rims/tires first. Then work with suspension. After you've done those things, then start building your motor. If you have the money get a swap if not you can always work with the y8, the y8 in a ek isn't too bad at all.

well someone correct me if I'm wrong, but adding a CAI and some headers aren't gonna add a lot of power to a d-series motor, the only real way to gain a noticeable amount of power is through forced induction or a swap, I know how you feel man, I don't really like my y7 haha

*EDIT* you could also try http://www.d-series.org for more help if you don't wanna swap your motor. SAVE THE SOHC!

If you don't have enough money to boost it then you don't have enough money to have a quick SOHC. Do not waste money on an intake or header or exhaust. Keep the engine stock, get a short shifter and put some nice suspension on it. You'll be surprised how much you like your car with a set of swaybars, a front upper strut brace and some decent spring/shock combo.

Power isn't everything - and in your case, CAI and a header don't make jack anyway. When you get a job and make some serious cash, the suspension setup will still work fine and you'll have a lot more flexibility in your go-fast options.

nice suspension set up, tint, ctr headlights, maybe some small interior mods would look good, and put some rotas on it, and drive it. its your car do it.

If you look around and do your research you should be able to piece together a cheaper turbo kit, especially shopping on H-T classifieds if you just wait for the deal. I did and got a steal. However, as others have stated if you're not going to be able to boost, you're deffinitely not going to able to swap. So if you want some good sound a couple of horses and by a couple I do mean litterly like 2 or 3, get an intake and a header. It'll mostly just make a nice sounding vehicle. Again as others have stated, do some suspension and other general cosmetics, and it'll be a nice good looking daily driver.

i have ground control coils with kyb adj shocks...love it. Alot of people will tell you alot of different things. Really depends on what you want out of your setup. I'd say just a good DD right? I'd stay away from full coils other than the teins and i'd go with the setup that i have. Total cost i spent was $600.
