Modifications without voiding warrenty
what kinds of modifications can i do to the car without voiding the dealers warrenty.....and also how strong is the r18 motor......how many horses can it hold and still last a good 200,000 miles(if i take care of it)
Hah /\ let's see....
1. Specific mods void specific parts of the warranty based on the individual claim.
2. Fairly strong for a SOHC
3. Depends on driver, habits, mods, etc. etc.
(can't answer last question, too many variables)

Okay, if you have anything goes wrong with airflow, the exhaust and the intake could be blamed.... or anything that has to do with sucking in air and blowing it out. Ummm, and when you asked about engine strength I didn't know you meant HP, the engine is built well, but the HP is lacking a bit since it's an SOHC it's at 140 stock. And the highest I believe an r18 engine got up to WITHOUT internals was in or around 250-270 (old boy that teamed up with some audio company to build a competition car), but again, I haven't seen anyone really guage the potential of the engine yet.

NONE. Any aftermarket part will most likely void some portion of the warranty. Example. If you get a coilover suspension, then your warranty on the suspension is pretty much ruined. And if you bottom out and damage your cat. converter, then they won't cover that either. But the rest of the vehicle's warranty will still be covered. suspension mods can't void warranty to engine and transmission. Your warranty is only void if the part installed actually contributed to the damage in the vehicle.
And as far as power up to 200,000 miles, that depends on driver maintenance of the vehicle. Use a good synthetic oil, don't beat on it constantly, keep the maintenance up and your car should last well beyond 200,000 miles and still put out just as much power.

Yeah i might have stretched that one a bit. But the car should still run fine. Might have to replace some natual wear and tear components, but other than that I don't see why any car can't run to 200,000 miles.
I had my Hyundai (which got a real bad rep for reliability) for 96,000 miles without a single mechanical issue. And all i did was run synthetic, and do the required maintenance.
