Anyone seeing excessive wear on the Rubber Grips on Clutch Pedal??
Anyone?????
I called my dealer last week and told them the rubber on the clutch pedal was almost gone on the top half. I said I only have 17K, 60K warranty and half of the time driving I don't wear shoes. I was told they would replace it this time but not again. I thought dang do I have to replae the entore thing every 20K??? Anyone else experiencing this????

I cant stand these pedals in the rain i cant drive correctly with my shoe wet it just holds on 2 my shoe it drives me nuts plus thats screecchhh sound when you come off the clutch when its wet ugh !
I'm suprised that they put those style pedals in the Si. I've only got 2,000 miles on mine and can already see where the rubber pads are wearing down. You'd think they would have just stuck with a metal pedal only.
But I guess you get what you pay for. After all, it's still a Civic, not a Porshe.

The rubber grips are amazing. Plus, with the metal gives the pedals a great looks with the interior.

I don't know about the Si or new Civics but since like 1984 (probably even earlier) all Civics/CRXs have had the same basic pedal design--2" square for clutch and brake with a rubber grip pad on top of it. In the rain, the rubber grip pads have no grip, so I took them off and cut grip tape "skate board tape" from 3M--cut it perfectly on the brake and clutch pedals--so instead of the rubber pads I my feet contact the grip tape--way better. ON the gas pedal I wanted it wider for heel-toe downshifts-so I got a drilled aluminum pedal which bolts onto the stock gas pedal. If you can remove the SI covers--grip tape is great!!

I've never had a problem with a rubber covered pedal before, which seems quite the contrary to what folks are mentioning here. Besides, who looks at their pedals?
