Default Project: SI

Hey guys, Im about to start on a new project. My goal is to turn my 2000 civic ex into a stock (for now) Si. I just wanted some feedback on what I would need for oem parts to make my Ex an Si. Here is what I got so far..

Motor
Transmission
Ecu
Gauge Cluster
Front/Rear sway bars
Brake booster
Brakes front/rear
Front Grill
Foglights (Already have)
Spoiler (Already have)
Front lip
Painted side skirts (Already have)
DOHC VTAAAAAK sticker (Already have)
Rear Lip
Seats (Already have)
Wheels (Already have)

Is there anything else I am missing from the list that I should add to make it an SI or anything that I should take off? Thanks for the input guys!

Engine, tranny, front lip, springs, sway bars, rims, and a rear sub-frame support because an ex isnt as beefy as an SI. Not that it is beefy. That is pretty much it.

the si had an amber cd player and climate control also. Dont forget the "si" emblem. The front brakes are no different the ex if I remember correctly. The brake booster is the same too I believe. Its the proportioning valve thats different. What about the front grille?

The ex has the same exhaust as the si of that year. But with all the detail he is going into, unless he wants to cut his rear subframe out and put in a beefier SI one... etc... He will never have an SI.

To the builder, do what you want, but you can improve on the whole thing with the same money you are spending... Go ahead for that B swap, get suspension, get a better exhaust, lighter rims, if you want nice seats get them too, and you will probably still have enough money for a turbo or other mods than if you realllly tried to make it stock. And you would have a much better car. Believe me... my 99 SI, is nice, but it is also soooo weak! in the areas I just mentioned.

EX has the same body parts as the Si..completely all...Minus the front lip..and the rear lips were optional in 99-00 si's....U can get them from any jdm site on back order...be expecting to pay from 310-350 for jus tthat...or do what i did just buy the type R rear lip for the Coupe and it is the exact same as the optional Si rear lip....the front lip is the Same thing as the Si front lip get replica's for like 50 each islandmotorsports.com, JHP, JDMSHIT, or even PASSSWORD JDM, get polyutherane is u dont wanna crack it..no ABS...too vulnerable..

Si stereo is amber, easy way to convert that get a amber #24 bulb...revome the face plate from the EX Stereo and replace the bulb i believe...either get the Si Cluster or just change the bulbs to RED...ummm....Interior wise..just get the Seats, even Integra seat will do the trick..Black leather ones look dope in it..Mines it milano red so all my interior lights are red and amber to match my sirius head unit...i rock my stock stereo...

geta nice stock Si exhaust for like 20 bucks at the salvage yard...but its hard to come by a stock muffler on a b16a2....

rear brakes, u're gonna need tho..even the Integra REAR Brake set up will do..

Si grill...or Ebay Replica...all the same **** u prolly gonna end up taking the Si off the front grille anyway like everyone else does...Tails are the same as EX...front headlights, bumpers = same...

that's it bro...just make sure the install is done correct..and ECU and sh*t u pretty much got urself an SI

I Dont understand why these people say "Oh, just buy an Si" nah it's not about actually having the car guys, it's about our ability to re-generate a car of our choice and all the work we put in it..it aint so much us wanting the Si...it's more like it's a project so let us do it..jeeze..hahaha

but just for good measure Get the Si Wing..een tho it's optional...but i think it really set's it apart from of Ex to Si conversion...and yea a minor 1.0" drop is good

Si Rims, seen them on craiglist for around 300.
but usually run about 350 - 450 depending on the condition and whether u want tires or not...

**** man, nothing more to say..have fun with it..dont get stressed out..it'll look mad dope when u done...as for mines, i'll start on my milan0 00 PROJECT In the summer when i have more time..cuz i need it as a daily driver to school and work for now and ****...

HAVE FUN! POST PICS..START A NEW THREAD.

You will need front Si LCA's, if you want to run the Si front swaybar.

He will need at least the front faceplate which is not sold. However if he went to a junkyard and searched an older post of mine. You can replace the chip and lights (there are many on a board for the radio) pretty simply if you have patience. There is no other easy fix short of a new radio to make the radio amber.
