instead of replacing my d16y8 with a replacement motor i put a d15b vtec into a 96 ek shell...converted everything to obd1....such as injectors/jumper harness/and a ex wiring harness(engine harness)...i crank the car and it runs but misses and has a 1800-2000 redline.....does anyone know what my problem is? im running a obd1 ecu and everything...ive got a feeling the tps sensor may be bad..but although im thinking in my head i didnt wire something up..can anyone help? thanks

if you mean its misfiring, make sure your plugs are one correctly...

the plugs are right...its running good now its not misfiring but if u rev the engine up a little it will just bounce at 1800-2000 redline? anyone please help we tried messing with the tps sensor tonight but it seems to be doing fine?

no it came out of a del sol with a d16z6....i have no idea wtf is up..maybe trying a different ecu will work..ill let u guys know

you said you cant rev it past 2k? or you can it just idles back and forth between like 1.5k and 2k rpm? if so then you have a vacumm leak or you need to clean your IACV or the Fast Idle Control.
