im looking into buying a 1992 civic and I would like to know what my options are for modification are on it in the engine category. I have just started reading magazines on this but I am still confused when it comes to the different engines and what cars they will fit in. Please explain some of the different engines and what ones will fit in the 1992 civic and which ones have the greatest hp potential with respect to cost.

just to represent for my D-series brothers, hybrids are not the ONLY way to go. There's a host of homeless D16Z6's and Y8's out there that can be had for a song. Thrown into a CX hatch, a car that weighs 300lbs +/- less than my Si, it's not a bad combo. I've seen them kick some butt at auto-x's. There's always F/I options for these motors too. A $300 motor with a $1500 turbo kit is still less than most swaps.

Again, I'm not saying this is the best way, but just so you know that you do have some choices.

The Del Sol I just bought ran 12.5's on slicks with a SOHC VTEC and an FMAX turbo
