Default rsx type s hondata problem

I had my car for couple years , 02 type s cold air intake, dc headers, catback exhaust and hondata, now the hondata was already installed when i bought the car at a dealership, it has always been fine, but for a month now the check engine light comes on, not all time , but sometimes it popps on half way im driving , start car its already on, goes off later, weird, oil is fine, acura cant do anything cuz they dont understand nor work on hondata.

anyone know wut i can check that makes this happen, or know of this happening with hondata. must i tune it professionally, or a website that tells me about hondata cuz i dont know all that it does, i know i can redline at 9 thats it

I dont know if you have a reflash from hondata or Kpro, but it sounds like you have kpro and you have the MIL light to flicker when your engine knocks...if you have a labtop you can just switch this feature off so you dont see it. Also if this light is flickering alot at hight rpms you should probally take it somewhere and get it professionally tuned...knock is definitely not good for your engine.

Have you tried the old paperclip trick to find out what CEL codes are being thrown?
I know there used to be a DIY thread on how to do this on here, I'll see if I can find it. I believe I have seen them on EPhatch and k-series too. You unfold a paperclip to make a "U" and jump out two specific pins in the diagnostic plug under the dash and when you turn the key to the ignition "on" location the CEL will flash in something similar to morse code. Long flashes represent the first digit of a the code and the shorter flashes represent the second digit. It will only give you generalized codes though, to find out the exact DTC you would need to use a diagnostic code scanner. I'll see if I can find the links cause jumping the wrong two pins could be very detrimental to the electrical system, specifically the ECU.

give me a little time cause I'm at work....

Get your hands on a laptop, download Kmanager, and connect to your ECU. Within Kmanager it tells you what codes the engine is throwing. Ideally I would recommend having the car retuned, after you replace the bad O2 sensor or whatever is causing your CEL.

Plug up your laptop to the ECU and find out what codes are being thrown. But to me it sounds like you are having engine knocks. You need to check it all out before you mess up your motor. I have had Kpro on my car for almost a year and it is awsome if you know what you are doing but dangerious if you do not.
