Default newbee here need some help

hey all i've got a 99 civic dx with a d16y8 swap that is turbo'd i'm in the process of getting it all to gether the problem i have is it WONT START LOL........
i've rewired the harness from OBD2A TO OBD2B and have the p2p ecu everything is in but i'm using the dx harness and i've added the three extra wires for the vtec
i'm also using the distibuter from the dx set up i have the other from the d16y8 and i'm seeing there is a difference in the connector plug the dx has a 8 pin plug and the other has a 9 pin plug would this have something to do with why the car wont start or is there anything else anyone can think of any advice would be great
thanks ~ Twism

So add the other wire from the distributor. This isn't rocket science.

Also, and I know this is a MASSIVE PET PEEVE for everyone here: when you say "my car won't start, roflz!" do you mean it's not cranking or not firing? Is it clicking? Is the fuel pump priming? What the **** is actually happening when you turn the key?

You probably miswired something.

No fuel = main relay or fuel pump. If you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key to the on position, it's either the fuel filter (unlikely) or the injectors.

sorry to thread jack, but when you drop the y8 into a dx, do you want the dx distributor or the one off of the y8?

You want to use the DX dizzy b/c it'll plug right into the harness.

Or you can use the Y8 dizzy and re-wire it with a plug cut from a DX dizzy (there's wire matching pics all over the place) and everything'll plug right in again.

My friend hardwired his dizzy right to the harness (no plugs).

You can do it either of those 3 ways, I recommend them in descending order. The DX dizzy as far as I know should plug right in and bolt right up. If not, you can re-wire the DX plug onto the plug of the Y8 dizzy and it'll plug right up.

Finally, if for whatever reason it still won't work, you can wire it directly into the harness using a wire matching chart (same one you'd use to re-wire the dizzy from a Y8 plug to a B7 plug).

Hope that helps

@ OP:
If you're not getting fuel ..

Archidictus said everything I would have said, so just read what he said :-\
