Default where to find stolen engines?

where online can you find stolen ITR engines?
I know ebay is a good place to look...
Where else?

I'm thinking about making some sort of automated search program, that will scour these websites for our engines, making it a little harder for thieves to unload these things.

thanks. I figure theres many more illegal hybrids than there are legitimate...i'd say 1 legitimate for every 5...

thats startling enough for me to stereotype.

no offense, but you mean to tell me that out of 10 of my friends that have swaps, 8 of them are lying to me about where they got there motors? I guess I'm not inviting them over for dinner anymore. If the papers arent correct, thats not the person who wants to make there car faster fault, its whoever messed with the papers thats giving everyone else a bad name.

I agree. I guess all of my friends with swaps bought their motors from thieves. I should abandon them all. Anyone want to be my new friend?

Just because we are hybrid, it doesnt mean we have nothing to worry about as well. It doesnt make us immune to theft. All hybrid people dont steal, and all hybrid people dont have some secret society plotting against all ITR and SI owners. Thats like me saying all ITR owners crash their cars and we buy the motors out of them.

again, which has been beaten with a dead horse...legit papers dont mean much anymore. they are faked and falsified.

i see all these b18c5 civic swaps, and out of all of them, I know a guy who has one too which is legit....the ONLY guy i know who has a legit one for sure...because it came out of his own integra type R. ..and I know there arent many totalled b18c5s...atleast not as many as there are running around in hatchcraps.

The other guys....you will never know if its legit with 100% certainty unless you see it being pulled out of the car.

btw, those 10 friends you have...8 of them with legit motors...so you know two of them uses stolen engines? isnt that startling enough?

It may be crude, but he does have a point. Certainly, there are some hybriders out there that have legitimate swaps. These are people that wrecked their cars, or located a wrecked car, and then bought it with a salvaged title and transplanted the engine. The problem is that the ratio of stolen ITRs to wrecked ITRs is about 3 to 1 (or more). It is completely impossible for every hybrider to have legit motor, although every one of them claims to. I am not saying hybriders are thieves...but they certainly cater to the thieves by buying "legit" motors for $2k when they should be selling for $5k. Papers or not, if the price is unusually low, there is a good chance it is stolen.

This is a question for all you hybriders that are offended by the suggestion that many hybrids have stolen motors: If our motors are not being placed in Civics and Integras, where are they going?! And if you are so sure that you don't have a stolen motor, why take offense to the suggestion that you do? If someone says something about me that I KNOW isn't true, I don't let it bother me...

actually 00-0187 he was using your example that 1 out of 5 are legit so he said out of the 10 peeps he knows 8 must be lying which means all 10 have legit swaps.

now see that wasn't that hard was it

No, I'm not forgetting. See the "wrecked their cars, or located a wrecked car" category that I listed above.

Man I loose respect for people like you.

Might as well say, "I think this so therefore I'm going to make large generalized assumptions based upon it."

unless you have actual data to prove your 'theory', Go away . . .

Your sure not doing any good spouting off like this.
