Wanted to do a higher compression piston when i get near the 100K mark, " I know it will be awhile" and didnt know if there were any good piston sets for the K20Z3? I'd like the TODA Kit, 12.5:1. So If I went with the 12.5:1 TODA pistons and some sick cams "IPS", I/H/E, and reflash what could I be around HP wise?

First off.. how far are you from 100k miles...

Secondly.. there isnt any "sick" cams out yet
and its unable to be answered where the flash would put you since

1. there are no cams
2. no flash out that would benefit from cams.

 

Thanks for the input. Yeah its gonna be awhile, I only have 18,000 miles on the car. So good thing is by the time I want to do it, there should be more available to pick from. Esp. since you say there are no cams and no flash yet. I'm basicly just sitting here daydreaming, lol.

 

What do cams do ?

They control the lift of the intake and exhaust valves. More aggressive cams have longer lift durations or alter the pattern of open/closing valves to maximize power. It's almost a friggin art.

Correct, I believe they are restructuring now to distribute their product in a typical fashion so they don't have to spend so much time dealing directly with customers. As I understand it, they will still be sold, just not directly from IPS as in the past.

Co-sign. Also, last I heard, the fine folks at IPS were working with Hondata to get the cam package out for the Z3. Hondata has been quite busy....
