Default who has had stock to the extreme?

just wanted a base on strenth of stock components. i'm going f/i on a d16z6 and didn't know fow far stock will go. i'm planning a rebuild with 9.5 comp pistons, ls shotpeened rods, block guard, etc. how much hp can stock pistons take? axles? what have some of you guys done? what have you heard? i've heard about 15psi on stock compontents sometimes and that 10 psi is ok. will axles snap at 200-250 hp?

If you 10-15 psi I would lower compression a little more. its still a sohc. As for axles, the first gen integ used to equal length axles and a halfshaft. Just like dohc's but for sohc's. I would use those if I were you. Youll have bigger propblems before you get 250 hp.

I've heard that stock d-series rods are only good up to about 220 hp.

stock d16z + 9psi = kaboom!!
well.. it didn't actually blow up. but after 2 weeks at 9psi... i lost half the compression in the #1 cyl. time for a b-series!!
