oil leak on spark plug tube...
hi, my friend just give ma his 91 civic lx and i find out that the spark plug tube have engine oil all over, i was thinking of the spark plug seal .. but .. any of you have any idea??? ??

but don't u think that's a little too much from that little oil seal ... and way before myfriend's eg have the same problem, and i changed it for him and still getting the sameproblem .. .is there any other cause .. for the leak ...
since you've got to take off the valve cover anyway you might as well get the whole kit,it comes with valve cover gaskets,o-rings,washers,and grommets.
Hopefully this solves the problem,if it doesnt then it might be coming from the o ring(s) under the rocker arms,,which was a pain in the *** to do.

no its not.. it can leak right at the bottom aswell. thats what yours looks like, mine does the same thing. you can try the v/c gasket kit but i really dont think thats going to stop anything.. if you cant see any oil leaking down then its your rocker arm asembly O ring that goes betweeen the rocker arm assembly and the head right at the bottom of that tube.

try changing the valve cover gaskets first if that doesnt work. its your rocker o rings.

advanced auto, autozone, napa.
They sell the whole kit. Make sure you tell them you want the kit that has the spark plug seals. I got the whole kit for $20. It came with valve cover gasket, spark plug seals and valve cover nuts.

lol yes, i think we figured that out a long time ago.. but iv found that most of the time its the rocker arm o rings/seals.

janz3n is right, i had the same problem with my car
its not the vavle cover gasket or the tube seals, i replaced both of those before i found out that it was O ring that seals between the head and the rocker assy. its not real hard to fix, just take off the rocker arm assy. and be careful how you put it back together
get a haynes or chilton service manuel(very helpful)
