ACT streetlite clutch/ flywheel trouble *searched*
OK, my set up is a 94 D16z6, 88 CRX si 5spd. in an EF and the motor and trans are out of the car.
I installed a new ACT streetlight clutch,pp, lightened flywheel, and both bearings.
My problem is that when the piviot arm is pulled up (by hand) and the throw out bearing contacts the pressure plate and it locks solid against the fingers and will not move. The pressre plate does not budge any at all. I removed the clutch plate just so see it that help and it still the same.
The throw out bearing works in and out, smooth like butter when the motor and tranny are apart, but once it the two are bolted together it will not move the plate fingers at all.
Is this normal with these clutches to be this hard to engage? I know with a stock clutch you can still move the piviot arm up and down rather easily.I dont think the cable will stand to even attempt to engage the clutch.
Have any suggestions

I think your problem is the clutch fork spring. Make sure you have the fork set into the case right, and if you cant replace the spring itself, bend it a bit upwards. I had a similar issue in my B-Series and it was just what I explained.
I kinda felt the same way about it may be the spring, It seemed to be a bit spongy on the coils that wrap around the pivot rod so, last night I disassembled it all again and replaced the spring and it still acts the same..just soild against the pressure plate.
On another note..the the ACT plate has much wider fingers than an OEM or replacement pressure plate. I can move these with heavy force (pressing on them by hand) But, I am assuming that may be due to an OEM plate fingers aren't as wide therefore, more flexible.
