Is it OK to wax a carbon fiber hood with regular car wax? oh, and ? on hood locks.
Just wanted to be sure before I wax the CF hood. Ive also heard of using marine wax...any noticable differences?
Also, who sells good hood locks for a Cf hood?
thanks.

i use regulaer wax on mine, and had no scratches or swirl marks,i dont have hood locks on mine(its a VIS hood) and havent had a problem remotely coming up for the last 2 years.i had some hood pins on my other car, i bought some skunk2's, sparco makes the same design, the pin slides back and forth to lock it down, that way when you go out you dont have to worry about someone stealing your pins.
Not sure on the wax, but Sparco ( as mentoined) makes pretty nice hood pins. Merrit has a nice set on here car. Im not sure the make, maybe she will post, or someone who knows will.
wax is fine. best thing to do is have a body shop put a clear coat on it. Proctect from US and shines nice.
But was is better than nothing.

Yoshi you have a link for those APC locks or were you kidding?
What about the Mr Gasket ones Summit sells for $25?
I want locks rather then pins, I figure if im going to drill in the hood, might as well have locks to (try) stop a thief rather then just pins.

<-----broke one of his spearco hood pins in Sunday's auto-x on a cone, but other than that they work great and I'm happy for the 25 bucks I spent on them
Here is the thread though... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=176276
how did you break a hood pin w/ a cone?
I wonder how you can plow through cones and have one hit your hood...
B2 - who took out a row of cones last weekend.

dude i have killed more cones than i'd like to think about. I actually cracked the splash gaurd under the car at nationals one year after i hit a cone so hard, but i've never had a cone fly up onto the hood or over the windshield...that would freakme out!
fais-who wonders if a cone hit windshield at highspeed what would happen...

.....I think it has something to do with doing a jarring 360 through the cones.
