I've been buying parts in order to complete my LS/VTEC build, and well now I've almost got all the parts on my list, and I have a couple questions.

1) My GSR head has been milled, it has Peak Performance Stage 2 cams and gears, and skunk 2 valvetrain.. My question was has anyone used these cams before ? I would like to be making power up in the 8200+ range and I want to know if anyone has done that with these cams ?

i think omni has worked with peak before if i'm not mistaken.

IIRC, back in the day, these were S2S2 copies, or very close. The profile may have been revised since then though.

 

I just want to make about 180-200whp. I hope these cams will get me there.

The kid that had these cams before me was revving to 10k in his gsr. Don't know what kind of power he was making up there. I just want to make power to about 8500.

 

i have had alot of confusion about what cams came in my motor.. seems a couple people were misinformes or claimed it was somehting it wasnt.. but the reciepts i just got says that it has peak cams.. now i think they have 2 cams which are street/strip and then a full race.. not sure which ones i have, i am still waiting for peak to email me back.. but the car put down 220whp regardless and made power up past 9k..

ps.. i am in cincinnati as well... if you are familiar with zerolift, they are the ones who built the motor..

 

dcash13: Were you selling a red EF? On CSR?

I think I was interested in it.. Anyway I've heard lots of bad things, and a couple good things about zerolift. I have had no personal expierences with them, but I think I might go with TPR or something.

Anyways, I hope I make good power with these cams, I can't really afford to buy a new set of cams at this point of the game.

 

yup that was me with the red ef.. wish i kept it for a beater but didnt have the money at the time to get it running so i sold it..

but on zerolift i am the same way.. ive never dealt with them realy.. my car was built there b4 i bought it but he was good friends with them.. was told a few diff things about the cams. was told it had toda c's, skunk2 stg 2, and blox b's.. but i just got a $7k reciept from zerolift and it says peak cams.. no im not extremely worried about which cams it has, it still put down the 220whp.. only downside is if i sell the car i wont be 1005 sure on what it has.. but the reciept says peak so im gona have to say they are peak.. let tpr build the motor but i would still let Blundar at zerolift tune it..

Yeah Dave Blundar will be tuning my car FOR SURE.

I have heard he is a geniues.

 

i have the peak performance stage 2 cams.... made 204 whp and 143 tq at 9600 rpm on an 81.5 bore stock b16 head .... nice cams pull hard from 6800-redline..... i wish they had a lil bit more down low.... but more tunning is in the future

 

Nice. I'm hoping to see above 200whp but I don't want to set my expectations too high.

Ordering my pistons today.
