Default radiators helpful comments only please

hi i was driving my 96 hb yesterday and its pretty dumped nd i hit a speed bump pretty hard on accident and it put 2 holes in the bottom of my radiator. i'm about 2 go 2 the junkyard in a little bit and i am wondering if i need a certain radiator or do i need a specific ej6 radiator or can i use another honda radiator 4rm any another model as long as its about the same size thanks for your help honda-tech

As long as it has a 1 1/8" inlet and outlet.

Also, if you can't find one, I have a 96-00 SOHC radiator from CFS that I'll let go for $50 + shipping.

That's basically it.

A radiator is a radiator is a radiator.

You can use a viper radiator for all intents and purposes and it'll work fine (although just the rad is probably worth more than ur entire car ).

Only trouble you might have with using a non-civic rad is bolt up problems.

So just buy a civic one.

Sounds to me like this would be a good opportunity to upgrade your radiator rather than buying a junkyard rad. Something to think about anyway.

How did that speed bump poke holes in your radiator? I'd think that those brackets the rad sits in would be able to protect it from something like a speedbump. The reason I ask is that my car's pretty low and I just bought a really nice radiator.

i don' really know but after i hit the speed bump my car started 2 over heat nd then i realized i had no more coolant in the resviour then i poured more in to find out i got a leak and then when i looked @ the bottom of it i saw 2 huge holes on both sides of the radiator....
