flashing OIL light
i was on my way home last night and my oil light started to flash.. i just got an oil change like 2 to 3 weeks ..what could it be .. i mean its a 90' so it has some years on it
doesnt matter what year it is. that means there is little to very very low oil in it. check the dipstick. did you do your own oil? add oil before you mess up your engine
dang i just checked my oil and i have absolutly NONE in there so i turn on my car and then flashing light is off and im idolling at like 1.75 ( i just put it in reverse and i let off the slutch and i backs up with out me even touching the gas.... WTF!!!
I bet it's your ICU ..
Do your intermittent wipers, rear defroster timer, chimes and beeps, or the side blinker work?

If it is the ICU [ which i'm sure it is, same thing happend to my car.. it would randomly flash but never stay actually solid or as bright as the E-Brake light ]

either
a) your car eats oil at a very fast pace
-or-
b) The people that did your oil change didn't put nearly enough oil back in your car.
I've had (b) happen to a relative and the engine crapped out on him. After getting any types of fluids replaced, you should always check that they actually replaced them.

JDMEric, why would you think it is his ICU? He said that he checked his oil and there was NONE in there. That is a definite cause of the oil light blinking, and blinking light means that there was a momentary loss of oil pressure, and a solid light means a constant loss of oil pressure. So you might of lucked out and had enough oil to continue lubricating the engine.
Any time that the light comes on, pull over and check your oil level or risk burning your engine up. You never know if a rock punctured the oil pan or if the filter backed off or something, spraying all your oil out.
Yes the ICU can give false oil lights, but if you check the oil and there is none, its not false.

LOL Oil light flashing...... first thing you should have done was checked the oil level. I suggest you fill it up before turning it on/drive off in it again.

The oil light is for OIL PRESSURE not LEVEL. My old DA had this problem, and I replaced the ICU and it went out. It is most likely either the ICU or the oil pressure sending unit. Just get the pressure tested to make sure if you dont' feel like messing with those two things.
