Default Taking Suggestions, What Would You Do Next? 1992 Acura Integra GS

Okay heres the story, I bought this car for $4200 CDN, taxes in, saftied, and e-tested. In the last 3 months it has had the following new parts:

Engine, second generation Honda B16A with currently just over 70 000 KM on it.
Transmission
Clutch
Radiator
Hood
Headlights
Front bumper
Shocks
Springs
Paint job
All 4 tires
All 4 rims
Air filter

Also when I bought the car, it already had the cold air intake system on it, and the aftermarket fuel pressure regulator on it.

Now I know what you're thinking with that list of parts it sounds like in an accident, well you're right it was, the most recent owner rear ended someone, and his insurance company wrote it off. He then sold what was left of it to a local garage, of which one of my dad's highschool friends now owns and we have been regulars at his garage, of course. The car is not branded and it has 0 liens, so get all those negative thoughts out of your head , there is nothing else wrong with the car (ie: frame wise) that he was trying to hide or anything.

I'm here to ask for advice on what mods you guys would do next if it were your car, I already have a long range 2-way alarm system that I installed myself, and yes it is very well hidden. And I am currently looking at also doing a hidden killswitch, on top of parking in a safe location I don't have a problem with because I live away from the city areas. I have also since put in a completely new sound system so no trouble there

So yeah, I'm interested in learning about other mods and getting advice from the experts um, my interior is already done to my liking, as far as my exterior goes I'm happy with it, I have aftermarket rims already, and there decent looking ones that I can ride on all seasons, because of where I live we get every type of weather, so I'd rather have these than a pain in the *** of having to switch rims all the time for the seasons. I'm not a fan of lowering or body kits, because of the area I live in, rough roads it makes them impractical. In fact I have lowering springs that came with the car that I am currently looking to sell, any suggestions on getting rid of those are welcome too The one thing I've looked at for my exterior is some nice euro lights but right now I don't have the money for those, so they're on the waiting list lol.

Basically I'm mostly looking for suggestions on performance mods, and I live in Ontario, Canada so anything you guys can suggest that is easy to get to my area is even better

Also I was looking for an estimate on my current HP and Torque, based on what I already have in the car

Thanks in advance guys, I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say

PS: I'm not interested in removing ABS/Power steering, and I'm also not interested in a wire tuck project. And I know the way my amp cable is running currently isn't the right way to do it, I'm taking care of that tomorrow Also I have already got the car rust protected by the best people in the area, and I plan on yearly visits already, so no worries there. Oh yeah and my spark plugs are NGK Iridiums and I just cleaned and re-gapped them last week, and my spark plug wires are Bosch premium wires.

Bosch for Honda's

Eurolights = Gay

If you dont want to lower the car too much, get Eibach Prokit.

Intake, Header, Exhaust. Thats about it, unless you really want to go full out.

Im from Hamilton, and I know how bad the roads are in Ontario. As for rims and tires, either 15's with 205/50 or 16's with 205/45.

And actually I think that is a 1st Gen B16 Swap (from the Intake Manifold and the Dashpot that is on it).

How much money are you looking to invest into this car? what do you want to get from this car? do you like rice? or do you like the stock look?

You could put some camshafts in.

Just depends on how much money you got really.

Anyways, here's some pics of my ride (1992 Integra GS-R)... Enjoy

Put some GSR cams aka B18C1 cams for a nice power jump for cheap...

I think some quality bolt-ons are a good idea for this car... unless you have big plans for it. If your plans are to go big, then research what route you want to take. If you want a simple and reliable setup, add a header and exhaust system, a larger throttle body, a mild set of cams, and have it tuned on Hondata, Chrome, Uberdata, etc... As for suspension, that is really dependent on your driving style, and roads conditions.

What spark plug wires do you use, and where'd you get them from?

Ya euro lights are looking worse to me each time I see them now, when I first saw them they were nice but after seeing the price and taking time to think about them they kinda look worse. I might just get some clear corners or do jdm one pieces, thats what you've got right?

I don't think I'll lower it at all but, I'll keep that brand in mind for sure.

I've got the intake, I want to do the header and the exhaust, but where should I go for that in our area? Thats where I'm lost.

As for my rims I've already got aftermarket ones that came with the car when I bought it. http://www.cardomain.com/membe...l.jpg They look better when they're clean lol, but I'm satisfied with these ones, because they're low matience for our seasons. As for my tires I've gotta check what size mine are. Also thats a picture of my rear tire, and in the very centre of the wheel there, my axel is covered by a metal piece, but in the front on both sides, my axel is exposed, those pieces are not there. And every shop I ask about getting those pieces for the front say thats just the way the car is and that they don't exist.

My engine stamp says B16A and nothing else, from what I've researched if theres no number after the "A" then that means its a second generation B16A, correct me if I'm wrong please, thats just what I found doing some research on the net.

I'm not looking to dump my life into it but I want to do a few more things, mostly a full exhaust setup would be really nice. I prefer the stock look over lowering/body kit/shiny *** rims just because of where we live, it makes this stuff more impractical then fun to deal with.

Where could I go for the camshafts around here?

VERY nice ride you've got there, and thank you so much for all the help!

Ya thats more what I want, a nice fast reliable setup, I'm not racing/drifting with it or anything like that.

OE GSR cams used?
From the market place here?
If you want more power for more $$ get ITR or CTR cams (they are a lot more vs) the used OE gsr takeoffs.
You can also look into Skunk/blox stage I(same as ITR/CTR) or stage II cams as well..
NGK wires are what you should use for a Honda BTW

I see, I see. When I'm getting the new NGK spark plug wires, since my engine isn't stock, it'll be okay for me to order the ones that fit on a 1999 Honda Civic Del Sol right? because it has a B16A2 or whatever? And I have a B16A. thanks for the help

oh boy, i dont know what to say about those rims and tires. Winter tires suck.. lol. but i guess you need them for Ontario winters when it snows.

But you definitely need to lower your car. its a must. either eibach prokit (1.4F, 1R) or eibach sportline (1.8F, 1.5R) **i think those are the numbers**

as for buying parts, EBAY is your best friend. You can use the Marketplace here on honda-techto get good deals, but you gotta be careful of who you buy from.

if you wanna buy parts locally in Ontario, check out http://www.torontocivics.com/tccforums/

As for spark plug wires, get NGK or OEM Honda/Acura.

Your B16 is a JDM 1st gen motor 160hp version. If you look at my motor, mine is a JDM B16 XSi 170hp version. You can tell by the intake manifolds. Look and mine and look at yours. You'll see the difference.

Just put some CTR(Civic TypeR Cams) and ITR (Integra TypeR) valve springs. DC header, highflow catalytic converter, and a nice full exhaust. Either RS*R ExMag which i got and sounds awesome, but its expensive and hard to find. Or a DC Sports Exhaust ( i forget the exact name ).

Get some JDM 1 Piece Headlights, and just keep your stock taillights. No need to waste money on them when they work and look great.

Don't buy anything from stores in Ontario. They rip you off and are expensive.

Use http://www.torontocivics.com for local parts and people to help you out.

Good luck.

Ya winters do suck, soon as the road just gets a little wet I lose so much acceleration lol. but they're all brand new at least so i think i'll just leave them on till they're dead, and then get some nice tires.

I have DropZone lowering springs already, I'm trying to sell them but so far I have a few people interested but nobody showing up with the money so if I still have them by summer I might put them on and try it out.

I'll keep that in mind, I got a buddy thats good with ebay so i'll enlist his help

checked it out, looks like a cool site. thx

I'm gonna order an NGK set from parts source tomorrow :D

Ah I see, thanks for the advice. But when buying parts and stuff, anything that it will fit a B16A it will go nicely into mine right?

Where could i get the CTR cames and ITR valve springs? ebay? I definitely want to do the exhaust, actually when I bought the car it had a DC Sports logo on the windows but I got rid of it because at the time i didn't have any security on the car and i didn't want to draw much attention until I did, so i'll get some pictures of underneath my car soon, as far as I know though there is no longer any DC sports parts on it, I think the previous owner took them with him or something. a very nice complete exhaust system is definitely something I want to do.

I think i'll do clear corners and get the same look of the jdm one pieces, just to save some money but yeah, good call

thanks for all the help once again :D

Oh I'm getting those NGK wires soon, and my spark plugs are NGK iridiums that are in brand new condition anyways so I'm not replacing those, but what gap should I be using with my engine? I cleaned and re-gapped them to .44 recently, seems to be working fine.
