Transmission problem?
Hey guys,
Im looking into buying (another) CRX on the cheap. Here's what the guy has to say about the "problem":
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i replaced the driver side rotar and axle and hub assembly because i grounded down the splines in my old hub. but now when i go into gear my wheels wont spin, so im assuming i knocked the axled gears are knocked out of alignment... clutch maybe.. who knows but i need a DD
</TD></TR></TABLE>
If worst comes to worst i have a spare tranny and axles in the garage, just wondering what you guys may think the problem is.
thanks!
Jacques

i would say that the axle is not all the way into the transmission - it needs to go in until the little clip engages the differential side gear
Best guess, you are not looking at a transmission problem, per se.
From what you described, this car was working until the hub was destroyed. Replacing the half shaft and the hub would not create a problem in the transmission. It's not in, not seated, or something, on one side, or the other. I'd be very surprised if it was anything other than a misinstalation issue when he replaced the half shaft and the hub. Something wasn't done correctly, or he used an incorrect replacement.
