taking the back wing off??
I really liked the way that someone's SI looked w/out the wing on there..do you guys know what's involved after you take the wing off..do you have to cover some holes..I have no idea how it's put on there? and if you take it off..can you just re-attach it just as easy?? Thanks..

Most cars these days have the wing holes outside the weather stripping of the trunk. Like on an Evo, if you take the wing off and leave the holes exposed, any water that goes in them, just runs along the channel of the trunk opening and comes out at the base.

He drives a Habi. They don't make the base civics in Habi. So someone who sees it without the wing, and notices that, will notice that it is an SI.

I don't think my car could look like a base model with the wing off..I just liked the look of it on the black one...it was pretty sweet..don't know if i'll actually do it or not..but if there's painting involved..and bondo..all that stuff..I doubt I would do it anyways...

The wing simply unbolts. I believe there are 6 bolts that secure the wing to the trunk lid. If you take the wing off, you will have to seal the holes up.
PM ill roller because he took his wing off and got his trunk repaired and repainted

I'm not 100% sure, but it might be about the same $$ to get another trunk from a base model, rather than getting it patched, sanded, sprayed, etc. If they don't make base's in your color, just get it resprayed. That way, you will have your OEM painted trunk, not some "almost-matching" paint.

Lmao the wing doesnt make the car an SI. So anyone who puts a Si wing on their car become a SI? Im pretty sure its called and SI because of the motor, suspesion.seats, tranny etc.

I think he was referring to the fact that the only Civics that come from the factory with a wing are the Si's. Easy way to spot one from a distance.

For a temp/ghetto/easy way you can buy little gromments/butt plugs that fit in the holes and keep water out(avaliable at checker, home depot, etc)... they arent too noticeable but you can def tell that they're there once youre up close
I've also wanted to do this ever since i got my car. I think best bet is to swap trunk lids with someone with the same color. or buying a whole new trunk lid from honda.

I'm sorry, but the Si spoiler looks a little too boy racer for me, the lip spoile on the base model coupes look much better for a more mature appearance. Everyone likes different things, apparently you like the fast and the furious

Some of the plug grommets fit really well, and the advantage is that you can put the wing back to sell it or if you ever change your mind. Or you could swap trunk lids-but then you would have to drill holes if you ever wanted to put a wing back on.

I disagree. That's a ridiculous comment to make.
. I think the spoiler compliments the car very nicely. Granted that's just my opinion and everybody is entitled to one. However, when I think of the Fast and the Furious, the Si spoiler is not necessarily what comes to mind. What comes to mind is those big GT wings that sit about 1 or 2 feet up from the car.
Same thing with the ITR spoiler and the Supra spoiler. I happen to think they look badass on those cars.

Just a FYI.
The CMHSL (Center Mount High Stop Light) is in the wing spoiler on the 06-07 Civic Si Coupe (and 07 Sedan).
For the coupe you'll *also* need to also swap the back rear interior deck with the EX, and the CMHSL from the EX, and maybe a wire harness.
Sedan's won't even be able to do that since the Sedan EX doesn't have the subwoofer on the back deck.
Add up all the costs of this mod. You might dislike the wing spoiler a bit less.

its really simple your unbolt the wing from within the trunk, then toward the left part of the trunk there is a small push plug all you have to do is follow the wire and then you can disconnect it the only thing is you'll have the holes on your trunk that you'll have to get covered...
